Twenty slow-release oxalic acid fiberboard strips for varroa mite control. Fold each strip in half and drape over the top bars of brood frames. Bees walk across the strips and pick up oxalic acid, which kills phoretic mites on contact. Leave in place 42-56 days. Can be used with honey supers on (avoid intense nectar flow). No temperature restrictions above 60°F. An extended-release approach to oxalic acid treatment that does not require vaporization equipment or mixing.
