The Difference

Why Local Bees Matter

Bees shipped from California or Georgia face a hard adjustment to Arkansas summers, our specific plant species, and our humidity. Local stock is already acclimated — it overwinters better, builds up faster in spring, and performs more reliably across our seasons.

Our bees will be raised from stock selected over multiple generations in central Arkansas. When we offer them, you'll know exactly where they came from.

Questions

Common Questions

When will bees be available?

Availability will be seasonal — most likely spring. Join the mailing list to be notified as soon as dates and pricing are set.

Do I need special equipment?

For nucs: a 10-frame deep hive body ready to go. For queens: an established colony to requeen. We carry all the beekeeping equipment you need — or grab our Beginner's Hive Starter Kit if you're just getting started.

How many will be available?

We're starting small and doing it right. Quantities will be limited — first-come, first-served for mailing list subscribers.

Are these treatment-free?

Our bees are managed with integrated pest management but are not treatment-free. We treat as needed to keep colonies healthy and mite loads low. We also stock a full range of varroa treatments and monitoring tools in our shop.
