Puracell Triple Wax Medium Foundation
Medium wax foundation, triple-coated. Excellent for honey supers. Bees draw reliably.
- Triple wax coating for fast, reliable draw-out in honey supers
- Fits standard medium frames with grooved top bar
- Natural beeswax
What it is
A sheet of medium-depth plastic foundation coated with 100% capping beeswax. It goes into a medium frame and gives the bees a template to draw straight comb — no guessing, no crooked cells, no cross-combing into a neighbor's frame.
Why Premier's Puracell line
Premier Bee Products makes Puracell foundation in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The wax coating is 100% capping beeswax (rather than a mix of wax and paraffin, which some competitors use) — bees accept it and draw it faster than bare plastic or cheap wax-dipped foundation.
Medium depth
Medium foundation is 6¼" tall, designed for medium/illinois frames. Most Arkansas beekeepers use medium boxes as honey supers; some run all-medium operations throughout the hive for lighter lifting (a full medium weighs ~40 lbs vs. ~60 lbs for a full deep).
Usage notes
Slides into a medium wooden frame — no wiring, no embedding, ready to use. Store flat and cool until you're ready to install; the wax coating can melt in a hot garage in July. Pull foundation out of the package and install it the same day you put the frame in the hive — a fresh wax smell accelerates bee acceptance.
