What it is
A 10-frame shallow honey super in the 5 11/16" depth — a lighter, smaller honey super for beekeepers who do not want to lift full mediums or deeps once they are full of capped honey. Comes with 10 shallow frames included. Unassembled, so you can paint and assemble at home; standard wood glue and box nails are all you need.
When to choose shallow over medium honey supers
Full medium supers weigh 40-50 lb when fully drawn and capped. Full shallows weigh closer to 30-35 lb. For beekeepers with back issues, smaller-stature beekeepers, or anyone working alone without a hive lift, shallows are the easier-to-handle option even though you need more of them per harvest.
