What it is
A fully assembled medium wooden frame with triple-wax-coated foundation already installed. Pull it out of the box, slide it into your super, and the bees start drawing. No wiring, no foundation fitting, no assembly.
Why Premier's triple-wax frames
Premier Bee Products manufactures these in Sioux Salt, South Dakota. Commercial-grade pine, commercial-grade foundation, and the triple-wax coating gives bees more wax to work with than a standard single-dip foundation — they draw the comb faster and build straighter.
Medium size
Medium frames are 6¼" deep and designed for medium hive bodies. Used most often as honey supers because a full medium weighs ~40 lbs, noticeably lighter than a full deep at ~60 lbs. If you're running an all-medium operation throughout the hive, these work for brood too.
Usage notes
Frames ship with a bee-space groove for the top bar. Install all 10 in a 10-frame hive body at once — leaving a gap encourages the bees to build burr comb in the space, which is a mess to clean. Paint isn't needed for inside the hive; the bees will coat the wood with propolis over time.
