10-frame deep (9⅝") hive body from Premier Bee Products' Propola line. The Propola design's signature feature is roughened, grooved interior walls that encourage bees to build a propolis envelope inside the box. This propolis-rich environment helps colonies fight diseases including American foulbrood, European foulbrood, and chalkbrood — it's the whole point of the Propola line.
Built with precision-cut half-blind dovetail joints that are self-squaring and contain 25% less end grain exposure than standard box joints, which reduces moisture absorption and rot. Assembled with Hivebond 4000 waterproof wood glue (developed with Franklin Adhesives specifically for pine hive boxes) and hot-dipped galvanized nails. Made from select-grade kiln-dried pine, milled in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Assembled and ready for paint or wood treatment.
