What it is
Super Plus is the upgraded formulation of the original Honey-B-Healthy syrup additive — same lemongrass-and-spearmint essential oil base that bees readily accept and use, with added free amino acids, vitamins, and electrolytes for a more complete nutritional supplement.
When to use it
Mix into sugar syrup as a stimulative feed during spring buildup, fall buildup, when installing packages or nucs, after splits, or any time you want to encourage feeding and provide nutritional support beyond plain sugar water. The essential oil scent also encourages bees to draw comb on new foundation more readily.
How to use it
Add to syrup at the manufacturer's recommended dilution (typically 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of syrup). Use throughout the feeding season as a stimulant and nutritional supplement.
Notes
Super Plus is a feed supplement, not a varroa or disease treatment. The lemongrass scent in the original Honey-B-Healthy formulations has been studied for limited Nosema and varroa-related effects in lab settings, but it is not a treatment-equivalent product — see the Varroa Treatments category for actual mite management.
