What it is

A small hive beetle control tool from Ozark Bee Barn that works with your colony's natural defensive behavior, not against it. Placed across the top bars, the Beetle Crusher forms a narrow, dark space — exactly the kind of hiding spot beetles instinctively run to when bees are harassing them. The bees naturally drive beetles inside. During your next inspection, you press down firmly on top of the device; that crushes any beetles hiding underneath.

How it works

1. Set the Beetle Crusher across the brood top bars and leave it in place. 2. Bees corral small hive beetles into the dark space underneath. 3. At your next inspection, press down firmly on the device. If you hear a crunch, lift it, scrape clean, and reset. 4. No crunch? Reset and move on. 5. Keep one Crusher per couple of frames in the hive year-round for continuous suppression — typically four per full hive or two per nuc.

Why this beats other beetle controls

Oil traps work but are messy and need refilling. Swiffer / dryer-sheet methods block bee movement and have to be replaced often. Bait traps add chemicals and need restocking. The Beetle Crusher is reusable, chemical-free, doesn't interfere with the colony, and stays ready every time you open the hive.

Notes

Each 4-pack covers roughly one full-sized hive. Nucleus colonies typically use two. Best paired with strong colony populations and screened bottom boards — beetle pressure is hardest on weak colonies regardless of what trap you use.
