Queen Clip Stainless Steel
Stainless steel queen clip. More durable than plastic with reliable grip.
- Stainless steel — lasts indefinitely with minimal care
- More consistent spring tension than plastic versions
What it is
A stainless steel queen clip — a spring-loaded two-panel clamp for safely holding a queen bee during marking or inspection. Same function as a plastic clip, built for durability.
Why stainless
Stainless clips hold their spring tension for years of use, don't crack if dropped, and clean up in soapy water without discoloring. A serious queen-rearing operation that marks dozens of queens per season gets its money back on stainless tools quickly.
When to use it
Marking queens, moving queens between colonies, or holding a queen safe during a frame inspection where you don't want to lose track of her. Release as soon as the task is done — clips stress queens and stressed queens can get balled on release.
Usage notes
Clean between queens — residue from one queen can be read by another colony as foreign pheromone and trigger balling behavior on introduction. A quick soapy-water rinse and dry is enough.
Compatibility
Universal for any queen. Pairs with paint pens for marking and with introduction cages for transfer between colonies.
