What it is
A spring-loaded automatic grafting tool — the premium option above the simple Chinese grafting tool. The flexible tip slides under a young larva and lifts it out of the worker cell with the bed of royal jelly intact; pressing the thumb plunger ejects larva and royal jelly cleanly into a prepared queen cell cup (JZ-BZ cell cups sold separately on this site).
Why pay more than the Chinese tool
The spring-loaded ejector eliminates the part of grafting where most beginners damage larvae — flicking the larva out of the tool tip with a manual lift can crush or strand the larva. Automatic ejection lays the larva down gently every time, which improves graft acceptance rates and shortens the time it takes to graft a full bar.
When to use it
Once you are ready to graft consistently — a $60 tool is overkill for a single experimental graft, but pays for itself fast if you are running cell builders regularly. Pair with cell cups, cell bars, and the Contemporary Queen Rearing book (all sold separately on this site).
