Heavy-duty hive tool from Apis Tactical with a J-hook on one end and a flat scraper/pry blade on the other. The J-hook slides under a frame ear and lets you pull straight up — easier than prying from the side with a flat tool, especially for the first frame in a tight box. The flat end handles box separation, propolis scraping, and burr comb removal. Same heat-treated stainless steel and 3.5mm thickness as the Type 1, with a non-slip textured handle and yellow coating for visibility in the grass. The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 is simple: Type 1 is flat on both ends, Type 2 adds the J-hook. Compatible with the Apis Tactical Magnet Kit.
