What it is
Thin surplus beeswax foundation sized 4¾" × 16½" for shallow-depth frames — the minimum-thickness foundation used in cut comb honey production so the customer eats almost entirely natural-drawn comb. Approximately 18 sheets per pound.
How it fits in the workflow
Install thin surplus foundation in shallow frames on a strong colony at the start of a major nectar flow. After drawing and capping, harvest, then cut and pack as squares for retail.
Notes
Thin surplus is more delicate than brood-frame foundation — keep flat and cool until installation. Shallow frames produce slightly smaller cut squares than medium frames; choose based on the cut comb box size you stock.
